National Championships end in Classic Style
The 2009 Inline Hockey Australia National Championships ended in grand style with the Western Australia Men defeating the 2008 Runner up from Victoria 3-2 in overtime.
This is the second year in a row that we have seen the host State take out the National Men's title in overtime. Last year the Team from South Australia defeated Victoria in an identical 3-2 overtime score.

Quick Start
Day one has started quick withthe 11's& Under opening the National Championships.
South Australia hand a crushing loss to the host s from Western Australia 14-0. Victoria went on the defeat Queensland 3-1 in a close contest that saw the game officials call five minors to each team.
In the opening game in the 15 & Under Division Victoria got off to a quick start defeating Western Australia 3-2 and in the second game Queensland defeated South Australia 4-2.
Since the creation of Inline Hockey Australia the one division that has always been very competitive has been the Junior Women. This proved to be correct on the opening day with the Jr. Women starting the best of seven series with a 2-2 tie. Victoria and Queensland will batttle hard in all seven games.
In the 21's division Western Australia got on the winning side of the scoreboard defeating South Australia 3-1. In the second game of the day in the 21's division Queensland jumped to a 5-2 victory over Victoria.
To round out the first half of day one Western Australia drilled South Australia 5-1 in the 13's and Under Division.
